Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer admitted his team lacked composure and finishing in the Champions League semifinal second leg against Paris Saint-Germain, while hailing the French side as “real killers” for their clinical display in the first leg.
PSG earned a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday to book their final ticket with a 6-5 aggregate triumph. Neuer reflected that his side was inches away from turning the tie but failed to execute when it mattered most.
“We didn’t have many clear chances, but when they appear… Look at PSG – they were real killers, scoring five goals in the first match. That’s exactly what we needed today. I think it was obvious we were genuinely close to advancing to the final, but we couldn’t finish the job,” Neuer said, as quoted by UEFA’s website.
PSG will face Arsenal in the final on May 30 in Budapest.
